This selection of online course is specially designed to help high school students to make the most out of their online learning by developing skills that allow them to work safely and effectively online.

The University of Leeds also has a course to support students who are completing their extended essay as part of their International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.

These online courses are part of the Futurelearn’s Schools Initiative - a new initiative that gives millions of UK students aged 13+ free upgraded access to over a hundred relevant short courses on their platform.

Skills to Succeed at University

This new online course has been designed to improve key academic skills for students preparing to start their undergraduate studies in the UK. Your students will learn skills, like effective note-making and time management, which are useful not only for university study but also for their school work.

This online course is designed to help high school students to make the most out of their online learning by developing skills, exploring online tools and applying reflective strategies. Students will discover how to focus on certain types of content and make connections so that they can grasp difficult concepts and look at the bigger picture of a topic.

This online course is designed to help high school students to improve their communication skills and to learn how to collaborate effectively in an online environment. They will explore strategies that will help them get the most out of online conversations and share content safely, whilst complying with copyright permissions.

Learning Online: Managing your Online Identity

This online course is designed to help high school students to manage their digital identity and how to present themselves to make the most of their online communications.

Learning Online: Researching Your Project

This online course is designed to help high school students to conduct online research effectively by exploring tools and strategies. They will learn to identify their research question, explore primary and secondary sources, how to use specialist databases, and how to analyse information so that they can form their own opinion on a research project.
