Success at the Student Ambassador Celebration 2023

Date

On Thursday 15th June, staff from the Digital Education service came together with their 2022-23 student ambassadors to celebrate the success of this year’s DES ambassador activities.

To recognise the hard work and achievements of those involved, attendees engaged in peer networking, a careers session hosted by the University’s career service and photograph opportunities. The event showcased the array of activities that students have supported with this year, including the Fresh Start Festival, Instagram takeovers, JISC Survey stalls, software testing (360 virtual tour, VR and animation), academic integrity filming, The Digital Universities UK event (DUUK), blog writing and focus groups to name a few.

There were speeches from Megan Kime (Interim Director of the Digital Education Service), Chris Thompson (Interim Head of Engagement and Innovation) and Phil Vincent (Head of Blended Learning Support), reinforcing the significance of our ambassadors and the role they play in the digital education and innovation space.

We would like to express our thanks to those who have contributed so enthusiastically to the work stream this year. At the Digital Education Service, we will be recruiting our next cohort of Student Ambassadors shortly, in commitment to furthering the student voice in digital education.

Once again, a massive thank you to all ambassadors involved, and we hope to have another keen cohort of Digital Ambassadors later in the year.
