New Fully Online Postgraduate degree in Sustainable Business Leadership   

The University of Leeds has launched the latest in its line-up of Fully Online Education degrees – an MSc in Sustainable Business Leadership. 

 This exciting new programme is aimed at professionals (either early career or more experienced), looking to deepen their practice in this area.  The MSc in Sustainable Business Leadership uses digital innovation to offer global education opportunities addressing the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), meeting key elements of the University’s strategy for 2020-2030 relating to digital transformation and international activities. 

 The development of the programme began with research on the importance of sustainability for organisations across multiple sectors, including consumer goods, technology, and finance. The research revealed that sustainability has become a key issue for organisations of all sizes, particularly as we look towards a post-COVID-19 economic recovery.  

 The research predicted that employers would experience an increasing demand for skills and knowledge in areas such as creativity, decision-making, change management and alternative approaches to economics (e.g., circular economics). 

 These findings presented an opportunity for colleagues in the School of Earth and Environment and Leeds University Business School to pool their expertise in order to develop a unique online degree that will provide students with contemporary business skills and frameworks for working sustainably. 

 The success of this collaborative project is an excellent example of how Leeds academics can use digital education to explore new research and develop learning opportunities that are vital to our global future. 

We’re really excited to be launching our new fully online masters, utilising the skills of two University of Leeds Faculties. It’s been a challenging but very rewarding experience for us, and we hope this degree will meet the needs of today’s distance learning students, filling a noticeable gap in the market.

 Modules such as ‘Decision Making in a Complex World’, ‘Delivering Sustainable Solutions’ and ‘Sustainability and Business’ will directly address the needs of modern society as well as those of students and employers.
