New online Masters to tackle the global health challenges of tomorrow

Applications are now open for  Global Health MSc, the latest addition to the University’s growing portfolio of fully online postgraduate degrees. Developed in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine and Health, the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Digital Education Service, the programme combines world-leading expertise in global public health, policy, and digital learning.


Learning from the world’s experts

The course brings together expert insights from the School of Politics and International Studies and the Nuffield Centre for International Health and Development to explore how health, policy, and global systems interact in shaping critical global issues.

Students can choose to study for a Masters or a Postgraduate Certificate, gaining access to insights from leading organisations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and opportunities to connect with global health leaders.


Now more than ever, we need fresh thinking about how to do global health better. This programme is designed to give students invaluable skills and foundational knowledge for any career associated with global health, whether that is for international organizations, NGOs, CSOs, government departments, foundations, think tanks, or community-level advocacy.

The critical factors in Global Health

As part of the course students will explore:

  • The key factors influencing global health and our preparedness and response to these challenges
  • How wider determinants of health are interconnected on a global scale
  • The relationship between global policy and national health systems
  • The ways in which policy decisions impact health access and service delivery
  • How Artificial Intelligence can support health research and policy.

Flexible online learning

Interactive forums, discussions, and regular academic support provide the depth of a traditional postgraduate experience, while offering the flexibility to fit around work and life commitments.

This new MSc joins six other online postgraduate programmes at the University, which have already supported over 1,360 learners from across the world to access high-quality, flexible online education.
